About Yorkshire and Derbyshire
An area of contrasting natural beauty, with moors, dales, rivers, springs and caverns and at its heart the Peak District National Park, known and loved by millions for its breathtaking landscapes, relaxation, inspiration and adventure.
Spanning parts of Derbyshire and Yorkshire in the heart of England, it is home to pretty market towns and villages and stunning historic houses waiting to be discovered and explored.
DAY 1: After completing our local pick-up route we head towards South Yorkshire, with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. Aiming to arrive at our hotel in good time to freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2: We head to the picturesque old market town of Bakewell and visit the famous Pudding Shop, where we can watch the pudding maker’s art in action. Tea or coffee is included and you’ll even get the opportunity to make an original Bakewell pudding yourself to take away with you.
After the visit, we take in some more delights on a scenic ride around the Peak District National Park.
DAY 3: Today we visit Renishaw Hall and Gardens. After a complimentary tea or coffee, enjoy an intimate guided tour of the Manor House lasting around an hour, after which a light lunch will be provided.
After lunch, there will be free time to explore the surrounding 300 acres of gardens and parkland, or visit the museum and exhibition gallery at leisure. Take an afternoon cream tea before returning to the hotel.
DAY 4: Today starts at one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets – Brodsworth Hall and Gardens for a guided tour of this magnificent stately home. From the tranquillity of the Morning Room to the grandeur of the Drawing Room, it’s a fascinating insight into the Victorian era.
Later that day we travel to Elsecar Heritage Centre, located within the former ironworks and colliery workshops of the Earl Fitzwilliam. This now houses an antique centre, craft workshops and exhibitions of Elsecar’s past.
DAY 5: We say a fond farewell to our hosts and make our way homeward with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route.
