Discover more about Shakespeare’s life in Stratford-upon-Avon, wander below the dreaming spires in Oxford and see charming Cotswold villages, in addition to visiting the magnificent Blenheim Palace, home to the Duke of Marlborough.
DAY 1: After completing our local pick-up route we head towards Wellsbourne, with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. Aiming to arrive at our hotel in good time to freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2: Today we follow in the footsteps of the Bard by visiting Stratford-upon-Avon. Included is a visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace in the centre of town which provides an insight into what shaped the great man. There is free time to explore the town before taking a leisurely cruise down the River Avon.
DAY 3: Today we travel to Toddington to board the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway to Cheltenham. After the train ride, free time in the spa town renowned for its designer boutiques, pretty gardens and the historic promenade lined with Regency townhouses.
DAY 4: On our penultimate day we visit Blenheim Palace, a superb example of a Baroque residence situated in more than 2,000 acres of beautiful parkland. It’s then on to Oxford where the afternoon is free to explore this cathedral city. Home to more than 1,500 listed buildings, it is regularly used as a location for film crews from all over the world.
DAY 5: We say a fond farewell to our hosts and make our way homeward with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. Aiming to arrive back in Kent early evening.
