About the Isle of Wight
The Isle of Wight is often referred to as a little slice of England.
Here, you can still find miles and miles of wild and beautiful coastlines, a green heartland and tranquillity and an enchanting rural community almost untouched by modern urban pressures. It is little wonder why so many choose the Isle of Wight.
DAY 1: After completing our local pick up route we head towards the south coast to catch our ferry to the Isle of Wight, with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. On arrival at our hotel there is suitable time to freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2: Board the coach for a full day in Newport. This historic town centres on two elegant squares, with Georgian and Victorian architecture surrounding them. It is a great place for shopping with a number of well-known stores, mixing with smaller independent shops.
DAY 3: Today we travel to Godshill for the morning with its delightful medieval church, charming thatched roofed cottages and a winding main street lined with traditional tearooms. Godshill is as picturesque as it is popular.
DAY 4: A free day at leisure. Why not take a wander to Old Village with its independent shops, restaurants and pubs.
DAY 5: Enjoy an island tour today. Potter through the villages and discover the picture postcard side of the island, each with their very own unique character and heritage.
DAY 6: In the morning we visit the seaside town of Ryde, famous for its sandy beaches, boutique shops, museums and galleries. In the afternoon, we head to Cowes – at the mouth of the River Medina – with its many sailing boats and yacht clubs.
DAY 7: Today there is an optional excursion to Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s palatial holiday home. Speak to your driver for more information.
DAY 8: Today we say a fond farewell to our hosts and make our way back to Kent with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route.
