About the Cotswolds
Explore some of England’s most treasured landscapes in the beautiful Cotswolds, an area renowned for its outstanding natural beauty.
The picture-postcard countryside with honey-coloured villages and historic houses has provided the backdrop for many films and TV series.
DAY 1: After completing our local pick-up route we head towards the Cotswolds, with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. Aiming to arrive at our hotel in good time to freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2: Today we head to Sezincote via the Cotswolds’ Area of Outstanding Beauty. Nothing quite prepares you for the splendour of this traditional, family-run estate covering 4,500 acres of rolling Cotswold countryside. Enjoy a private guided tour of the house, followed by free time to explore the gardens. On the return, we stop at Cirencester, a delightful market town on the River Churn – a chance to purchase refreshments.
DAY 3: This morning take in the sights of the Gloucester Warwickshire Railway between Toddington and Cheltenham Race Course. The volunteer operated heritage railway passes through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Cotswold. Free time in Cheltenham afterwards, a chance to purchase some refreshments and lunch.
DAY 4: On our penultimate day we head to the historic city of Oxford. After some free time, a chance to purchase some refreshments and lunch, we set sail from the Salter’s Streamers mooring for a 40 minute return cruise along the Thames to Iffley Lock.
DAY 5: We say a fond farewell to our hosts and make our way homeward with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route.
