The culinary tour continues as you enjoy a tasting session of locally sourced cheese at Melton Cheeseboard and visit Dickinson & Morris England’s oldest pork pie Shoppe where you will learn how to make an authentic Molton Pork Pie.
Take in the sweeping scenery of a Trent River cruise as you voyage across one of the major rivers of England.
Itinerary
DAY 1: After completing our local pick-up route we head towards Derby, for our overnight stop.
DAY 2: Today we head to the Bakewell Pudding Shop where you’ll learn how to make an authentic pudding. Enjoy a piping hot tea or coffee whilst you wait for your own creation to bake. After this, we make our way to Bluebell’s Dairy. After learning about the adventures of Bluebell’s and its award winning ‘home-grown’ ice-cream, finish with cheeky tastings to test your sweet tooth.
DAY 3: Today we head to Nottinghamshire and start our 90-minute Trent River cruise, following the river on its downward journey. Voyage across on one of the major rivers of England and enjoy a tea or coffee aboard your cruise.
DAY 4: Today we enjoy a gourmet experience in Melton Mowbray starting at Melton Cheeseboard. With more than 120 different varieties of cheese, enjoy an introductory talk followed by a tasting. We then make our way to Dickinson and Morris, England’s oldest Pork Pie Shoppe, where we learn how to make an authentic Melton Pork Pie. Enjoy a 15 minute demonstration on the art of making pork pies at the last remaining producer of Melton Mowbray Pork Pies. As well as this, we will have free time to explore the market town, filled with quaint tearooms and antique shops.
DAY 5: We say a fond farewell to our hosts and make our way homeward with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. Aiming to arrive back in Kent early evening.
