About Florence and Tuscany
Montecatini Terme is an elegant thermal spa town located midway between Lucca and Florence.
This attractive Tuscan town offers lovely public gardens, beautiful spa buildings and a bustling heart with excellent shops and cafés.
It is perfectly located for excursions throughout Tuscany.
DAY 1: After completing our local pick-up route we head for a short Channel crossing and on to our overnight stop. Aiming to arrive at our hotel in good time to freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2: We continue our journey into Switzerland, with an overnight stay in Vareze.
DAY 3: Today we drive south through the Tuscan Hills to Montecatini Terme for our five-night stay.
DAY 4: A day at your leisure in Montecatini with its shops and cafés, thermal baths and gardens. Montecatini Alto, a wonderful Tuscan hilltop town, is accessible by funicular and worth investigation.
DAY 5: Today is a full day to Florence. See the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio or visit one of the famous galleries.
DAY 6: We head to Lucca and Pisa today. Lucca, birthplace of Puccini, has well preserved 16th century walls and narrow medieval streets. Pisa is world famous for its leaning tower and spectacular cathedral.
DAY 7: Medieval Siena which boasts a magnificent square as well as a gothic cathedral. After our visit there, we continue to the hilltop town of San Gimignano for a Chianti vineyard visit.
DAY 8: We say a fond farewell to our hosts and take a scenic drive north for an overnight stay in the Mulhouse area.
DAY 9: Our journey back continues, with a dinner and an overnight stay in Ath-Ghislenghien.
DAY 10: We head homeward with a short Channel crossing before arriving back in the Garden of England.
