About the Isle of Wight
The Isle of Wight is characterised by picturesque villages and bustling small towns.
There are some great places to visit on the Isle of Wight, each with their very own unique character and heritage.
Shanklin, the well-known, charming traditional seaside resort has a lovely mix of seaside and open, green space.
DAY 1: After completing our local pick-up route we head towards the south coast to catch our ferry to the Isle of Wight, with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. On arrival at our hotel there is suitable time to freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2: Start Good Friday with a visit to the seaside town of Ryde, famous for its sandy beaches, boutique shops, museums and galleries. In the afternoon, we head to Cowes – at the mouth of the River Medina – with its many sailing boats and yacht clubs.
DAY 3: Board the coach on Easter Saturday for a tour of the island. There will be plenty of stops throughout the day for sightseeing and the chance to purchase refreshments.
DAY 4: On Easter Sunday, we head towards Godshill for a morning coffee stop at The Old Smithy & Gardens, a chance to purchase coffee and cake. Once you’ve built up a head of steam, we travel over to Havenstreet Station to catch the Isle of Wight steam train – sit back and enjoy the stunning countryside. Take time to explore the award-winning Train Story Discovery Centre, which houses the vast majority of the historic collection of locomotives, carriages and wagons.
DAY 5: Today we say a fond farewell to our hosts and make our way back to Kent with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route.
