About the Yorkshire TV land
Fans of Emmerdale and Last of Summer Wine will love this four-day holiday. Both programmes are as famous for their scenery as for the storylines.
Esholt, where the farming saga was filmed for 22 years, saw many an explosive storyline, including the 1993 plane crash which was watched by 18million people.
Now a new generation of viewers are discovering classic Emmerdale with a re-run of the show from the 1990s on ITV3.
DAY 1: After completing our local pick-up route we head towards Yorkshire, with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. On arrival at our hotel there is suitable time to freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2: Starting in Leeds city centre, we make our way through scenic countryside to locations used in Emmerdale. At Esholt, there’s a buffet lunch in The Woolpack with a star from the show.
DAY 3: Today we enjoy a scenic tour of Last of the Summer Wine country in the heart of the Holme Valley. In Holmfirth, the village where much of the filming took place, you can see Sid’s Cafe and Nora Batty’s house. For a small additional fee, you can go inside to see the exhibition and gift shop.
DAY 4: Today we enjoy a visit to Haworth in the heart of West Yorkshire’s Bronte’s Country. You will find there are many good tea rooms, souvenir and antiquarian bookshops, restaurants and pubs. Why not visit the Bronte Parsonage in Haworth once home to the Bronte family.
DAY 5: Today we say a fond farewell to our hosts and make our way back to Kent with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route.
