About the Cotswolds
Explore some of England’s most treasured landscapes in the beautiful Cotswolds, an area renowned for its outstanding natural beauty.
The picture-postcard countryside with honey-coloured villages and historic houses has provided the backdrop for many films and TV series.
DAY 1: After completing our local pick up route we head towards the Cotswolds, with suitable lunch and refreshment stops en-route. Aiming to arrive at our hotel in good time to freshen up before dinner.
DAY 2: Today we head to Sudeley, a magnificent castle containing many fascinating treasures from ancient Roman times to the present day, surrounded by a breathtaking 1,200-acre estate with award-winning gardens.
From there we head to Broadway, often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’ because of its beauty and picture-perfect architecture.
DAY 3: Today we have a VIP experience at Chavenage House, a wonderful Elizabethan house featured in the BBC’s highly popular remake of the romantic saga ‘Poldark’. After the tour tea or coffee and cake will be served in the Ball Room.
From there it is off Cirencester, the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’ and second largest town in England during Roman times. Free time to explore the country market town.
DAY 4: Today experience the fascination of Gloucester waterways first hand on a 45-minute boat trip along the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. Departing from the National Waterways Museum at Gloucester Docks, the cruise is accompanied by expert commentary on the history of the canal.
Free time in Gloucester, a chance to purchase some refreshments and lunch.
