Discover the ‘Real Downton Abbey’
Downton Abbey is coming to the big screen this autumn and you can visit the stunning Highclere Castle next month.
Go behind the scenes of the ‘Real Downton Abbey’ on Tuesday 3 September.
Highclere Castle is one of England’s most beautiful Victorian castles set amidst 1,000 acres of spectacular parkland.
The Carnarvon family has lived at Highclere since 1679, and the current Castle stands on the site of an earlier house, which in turn was built on the foundations of the medieval palace owned by the Bishops of Winchester for some 800 years.
All passengers on this day break will be entered into a prize draw to win a £20 Odeon Cinema voucher – so you can see the film on us. The driver will do the draw on arrival at Highclere.
Set in 1927, the film, written by the show’s creator Julian Fellows, sees a Royal visit from George V and Queen Mary. It stars all the old favourites including Dame Maggie Smith as Dowager Countess and Hugh Bonneville as the Earl of Downton.
